To make Crate faster, safer and more reliable for everyone, we retired the Free plan on 19 November 2025. If you were on the Free plan, this guide explains what it means for your store and how to keep everything running.

What's changing

The Free (Basic) plan is no longer supported. In practice that means:

Your storefront is no longer publicly visible while you're on the retired plan.
Your dashboard redirects you to the subscription page on every visit until you subscribe.
Your data — products, orders, customers and settings — is preserved for now, but is permanently deleted after the cut-off date shown on the notice.

Your data is safe until you act

Nothing is deleted the moment the plan retires. Crate keeps your store data intact, and the instant you subscribe to any paid plan, everything is restored exactly as it was — your products, your customisations and your storefront come back online within minutes.

New to Crate?

Brand-new merchants still get a 14-day free trial with full access to every feature — add products, design your store, take orders — before choosing a plan. When the trial ends, your store simply pauses until you subscribe; your data stays put.

What to do next

Open the phase-out notice from Subscription in your dashboard.
Click Pick a plan and choose the plan that fits your business.
Pay by Paystack, bank transfer or your Crate wallet — your store comes straight back online.

Read What's still safe. Your store data — products, settings and storefront — is preserved until the listed date. Subscribe before then and everything comes back exactly as you left it.
